The Wizard of Oz a 'Visual Feast'

There’s no place like Mayflower Theatre when it comes to putting on a production to wow audiences. And this adaption of The Wizard of Oz, fresh from The London Palladium, is no exception.

The show, which stars Ru Paul’s Drag Race winner, The Vivienne, was a visual feast from start to finish.

Dorothy (Aviva Tulley) and Toto took us on a journey down the yellow brick road to Oz, meeting three special friends along the way. Praise must be given to the Scarecrow (Benjamin Yates) and the Tin Man (Marley Fenton) – but particularly Nic Greenshields who gave a very memorable performance as the Cowardly Lion. My eight-year-old companion was bewitched!

From stunning staging to musical masterpieces, we tapped our toes along, all the way to Oz and back, with lots of exciting additions to the original, and iconic, 1939 movie plot.

A very well-deserved applause went to Aviva Tulley for her performance as Dorothy. So perfectly cast, with a captivating singing voice and abundance of charisma.

A truly magical show.
